Double Belt Press

Double belt press plant for the manufacturing of homogeneous floorings

Fields of application
Forming of thermoplastic bulk materials to webs, e.g. production of resilient floor coverings even from recycled materials.

Principle of operation
By means of the scattering unit [A] the plastic granules are applied to the advanced lower belt [1] and compressed through the calender roll [2]. After the preheating zone [3+4] the granules are melted thoroughly in the contact heating zone [5+7] and are sized to the required thickness by means of the of the nip rolls [6+8] that are arranged one on top of the other. After that the substrate is cooled to the required outlet temperature in the cooling zone [9].

Double belt press plant for the manufacturing of heterogeneous floorings

Fields of application
Lamination of various thermoplastic foils, also in combination with bulk materials, e.g. production of floorings in web form or as floortiles.

Principle of operation
The base foil is applied to the advanced lower belt [1] by means of the unwinder [A]. Through the scattering machine [B] granules are applied to the base foil. Now a decorative film is applied to the layer of scattered granules by means of the film unwinding unit [C]. Then the wear layer is applied to the decorative film by means of the scattering machine [D]. Then the multilayer coating will be compressed through the calender roll [2]. After the preheating zone [3+4] the layer is melted thoroughly in the contact heating zone [5+7] and sized to the required thickness by means of the nip rolls [6+8] that are arranged one on top of the other. After that the substrate is cooled to the required outlet temperature in the cooling zone [9].

Double belt press plant for the manufacturing of composites

Fields of application
Lamination of sheet material on honeycomb plates or the like, e.g. Honeycomb Twintex® - composites.

Principle of operation
By means of the unwinder [A] the bottom cover sheet is applied to the advanced lower belt [1]. The cover sheet is coated with glue through the glueing unit [B] and by means of a feeding unit the honeycomb plate is deposited on the cover sheet. The honeycomb plate will then be coated with glue by means of the glueing unit [C] and through the unwinder [D] the top cover sheet is deposited on the honeycomb plate. By means of the the calender roll [2] the sheets are fixed on the honeycomb plate. After the preheating zone [3+4] the composite is heated to the hardening temperature of the glue in the contact heating zone [5+7]. By means of the nip rolls [6+8] the composite will finally be set. After that the honeycomb plate is cooled to the required outlet temperature in the cooling zone [9].

Double belt press plant for fibres and plastics recycling

Fields of application
Lamination of thermoplastic waste agglomerates or fibres to receive a reusable product, e.g. carpet recycling or for automotive interior products such as package trays (agglomerated trimming waste can be formed to recycled boards).

Principle of operation
By means of the unwinder [A] the base sheet (glass fiber, PVC etc.) is applied to the advanced lower belt [1]. By means of the scattering machine [B] the first layer of agglomerate is applied to the base sheet. For example, glass fiber can be deposited on the first layer of agglomerate by means of the unwinder [C]. Through the scattering machine [D] the second layer of agglomerate is deposited on the glass fiber. After that the multilayer coating is compressed by means of the calender roll [2]. After the preheating zone [3+4] the layer is melted thoroughly in the contact heating zone [5+7] and sized to the required thickness by means of the nip rolls [6+8] that are arranged one on top of the other. Then the substrate is cooled to the required outlet temperature in the cooling zone [9].
